Guys,

Looking for a place on the net that is a great source of info for proto railways. I have always been reading about trains but after I got my first issue of TRAINS in about 8 years I have been bitten by the bug and cannot quit. Used to think I was only interested in Midwest railroading but anymore I don't think I have much of a preference.

Thanks,

Brad

Best spot on the web is the sister site to this one:
www.railroadforums.com

great photo gallery, spotting guide and a feature to help you locate good places to railfan where ever you might be. Covers international trains too.

Ill try trainorders.com
Its not free but there is a lot of people that be on there. And there is also a member on there that give you an update every 3days on the UP heritage units

Don't bother with trainorders. The few blowhard posters and a wannabe nazi forum owner make it a suck-the-fun-out-of-hobby experience. Lots of good folks, yes, but why bother when more is available elsewhere without the anality? Was there for years, left and never went back. Too much is available for free or with less hassle to put up with TO.

The UP trace is also found on RRF:
http://www.railroadforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26562

for free.
