I want to add some grab irons to my locos and I need to pick up a pin vise, only problem is I don't know what to look for in one. They seem pretty straight forward but I would hate to waste money on some piece of crap. Micromark has 7 or 8 different units they sell and all are within a few bucks of each others, so any recommendations from what they offer?

I would go with the swivel headed pin vise Its a good all around tool.
the head should screw off revealing a second doubleheaded collet that you simply switch out giving you 4 basic sizes of collets, have had mine for years with nary a complaint.
Your best bet is to find one locally instead of relying on a picture. Its much easier to judge what you need by looking at it in your hand before you buy it. I got one that has a spinning head. Got it at a local hobby shop. Im sure you could find one at a hardware dept at any local home center as well.
