Pikestuff steel buildings

I model mid 50's to early 60's. Does anyone know when the pre-engineered building like the Pikestuff kits were introduced in U.S.?

Pre-engineered buildings date back to WWII, think Quonset Huts. They developed into the rectangular shape that we know today in the early 50's. The Pikestuff type, which I use a lot of on my layout, is more of a late-60's style, but that wouldn't be really noticeable on a late-50's layout. The earliest versions didn't always have the built-in gutter.
