i orderd the super empirebulder from a local hobby shop the week befor christmas .well i am still looking for it to come in i have been doing some planning for the throttel plugs around my layout . my ? to you all is can i use phone jacks insted of ordering the digitrax ones. its got loconet
Yep, you can.
The Digitrax UP5 is much nicer though. It has two ports, a track power indicator, jump ports for Loconet hookups downline and that cool Digitrax logo.
We used one standard phone plug for our West staging yard. It works fine in a little used, out of the way location. The main layout has UP3/5's.
If you go with phone plugs, be sure to get the 6 conductor type.
Thanks you guys for the quick responce
now i can wire the layout till the system comes in

BTW, Congrats on your new Digitrax system!

thanks i started the same way you did i had a mrc 2000 but figured it's time for the upgrade

I haven't used the SEB, but if it's anything like the Super Chief, you're in for a fun ride. Man, this thing will do alot!
