Thought some may like to see this.

The P&W has a few F7 or F9s??? still in service and used a few times a week. Im in the process of modleing them from these pics I found on the internet. I think this will be a great way to run some old diesels with newer freight cars on a layout. I have the shell painted just waiting to add decals this weekend

Trent, the #1752 is an FP-9. You can tell that it's an F-9 by the louver in front of the leading porthole but an FP because of the longer wheelbase and four foot extension for the steam generator equipment. That long flat area behind the winterization hatch is where the steam generator exhausts used to be located. The fuel tank is odd though, much smaller than a normal FP-9. I don't know if that was done to decrease the axle loading for light rail or what. What model are you using for this unit? An Atlas FP-7 would not be exact but close enough. Sure is an attractive paint scheme.

Thanks guys... Yea I thought about buying a few FP9 from intermountain but then Figured I should stay on a budget. So I used 2 old Blue box athern F7s that have been collecting dust for the last 10 years. I just bought some Micro scale Font and stripe decal sheets and a Walthers Detail kit. Hopefully it will look close to the prototype and most will not notice? Pics comming soon.

Trent, Athearn F-7's will still look good in that paint scheme, even if they aren't quite right. The only thing I would do is mill down the fuel tank area to more closely match the small fuel tank and air compressor on the P&W unit. That would help give it a longer legged look. Adding a louver in front of the forward porthole would help complete the illusion.

Good minds think alike!

I was thinking of cuttin out some of the tank out to make it look like the prototype yet fool one to think the frame is longer. I just have to be carefull as I think the motor mounts are near one end/
