Hey all, I was wondering if any of you could point me in the right direction. I would like some recommendations of good reference material pertaining to the Pennsy steam era serving steel mills. Photos of the freight cars would be especially helpful as I already have lots of photos of the engines. Types of cars hauling lime, coke, ore, coal and finished steel is what I'm most interested in. Thanks for any info :)

Click this link to Peach Creek Shops and scroll ~ two-thirds down the page. There are two excellent steel industry books listed there, one of them being Dean Freytag's intro to steel mill modeling (a must-have that's hard to locate between print runs). The owner of this LHS specializes in steel industry models and literature.

You probably saw copies of it on eBay. Since that book is rarely ever reprinted, sellers often ask ridiculously high prices for them - and there are some people who want it badly enough that they'll actually pay them! Peach Creek's price ($50) is fairly reasonable, I'd recommend getting a copy before they get sold out. I think mine was ~$40 when I bought it in 1996.
