Another thing that helps pictures and gives them more impact is to get down on the level of the subject. I know there are times when we want to show what's behind the locomotive, or an entire scene, so we have to shoot from a much higher angle than usual. But to get that ooooommph in a picture try getting on the models level. That was the idea behind the picture of Hannah, my English bulldog..
