Another thing that helps pictures and gives them more impact is to get down on the level of the subject. I know there are times when we want to show what's behind the locomotive, or an entire scene, so we have to shoot from a much higher angle than usual. But to get that ooooommph in a picture try getting on the models level. That was the idea behind the picture of Hannah, my English bulldog..
and it's the same with model trains..
It's really simple stuff it's just that most don't think about it.
