On-site tooling/machining and electrical updates

Guys,

On-site Tooling and Machining

Our payment for the Daytron CNC Center is going out today. This brings on site injection mold tooling and machining. We have a number of new machined products ready to run when our trainer arrives in July/August. There are seven snow plows, and a number of variations of wheels for our traction motors that we start to get posted to our web-site.

As for tooling, we're going to restart the stanchions (MIM), fans, truck details and other areas ASAP to make up for the lost molds.

At this point the hood components will be done in both an assembly friendly version and thin wall type format with styrene doors for a "kit" option if you want interior detail shown.

With some creative placement, you can still have a fully running model with new drive and electronics that shows a prime mover.

We WILL be releasing our full kits for the entire Dash Two series (EMD/GMDD) as we've been promising and also getting set up for an Assembled product line ASAP. The GP9 project up to the SD40's will also be worked into the loop concurrently with the ATSF Topeka Cab and CN/CP Rebuilt GP9's starting the non dash two line. The drive/trucks and electrical for the dash two locomotives will all work in these units. After this, we will start hitting other locomotive types.

The assembled product line is going into the niche of highly detailed units that ARE accurate.

We are also able to provide turn key OEM solutions, if you are interested, we're starting to book projects.

Electrical

The Non-Sound Motor Control Unit system will leave assembly on June 1st. This moves the project into programming. A lot of the firmware for DCC is ready to go. This will enable us to demonstrate a full digital traction motor based drive in June.

The Sound Motor Control Unit system is going into fabrication this week. All of the IC's for the Sound version are here. I will be sending them out to the assembly plant this week.

The fully upgraded tablets with ZigBee integrated are leaving our supplier on June 20th. We've added new variations. The basic model without 3G and GPS is now $320. The fully upgraded model with 3G and GPS is $480.

If you use the tablet and our new locomotive motor control, turn-out nodes, signal nodes, and recharge module, you will be able to have a fully wireless layout.

The tablet will communicate with these devices directly and no wire connection between nodes is needed.

No track wiring, boosters, juicers, circuit breakers, blocks, bus wire, suit case connectors, PC interfaces are required.

August looks firm for the initial releases to have been shipped.

We will issue incremental software upgrades. Other than required firmware, we will keep things open so developers can be creative. The tablets also include WiFi so you can download updates and upgrade your nodes with the ZigBee by rewriting their flash within seconds.

The initial release will have a throttle, dispatch, and system interface similar to existing products. A forum for the latest and greatest will be up and running soon.

The tablets, locomotive, signal, turn-out, and recharge components are all now posted to the web-site.

All the best, looking forward to the second half of 2012!
