Is it possible to have onboard sound without a DCC controller? Why do I ask this? I have a couple dummies that I want to add idle engine sounds to make it more realistic.
Thanks,
John Bovinette
I may very well be wrong ( not the first time either), but doesn't the MRC Tech 6 look after dc control with DCC sound control? Just a thought.
Cheers from the Heart of the Continent

Look at the MRC sound decoders with the hand held remote to trigger the sound. These were also used in the Athearn F units and FP's. You won't need anything for sound in DC operation. Not the best but for the price very good.
I have purchased BLI Blueline engines with sound and also a few QSI sound engines for under $100.00. The Qsi decoders alone cost about the same as the complete engines.
The QSI and Blueline engines will need sound controllers that cost around $39.00 to get full use of the sound.
I was going to take one of the sound units from one of the engines to add to a dummy but haven't gotten around to it yet.
