Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs IA

well its good to see that UP is a company willing to show the "fallen flag" colors of railroads that they bought out.The C&NW locos always looked great when cleaned up a bit. I rember as a kid I would go down to Arlington park trainstation on the old CNW 3 track main and watch the commuters race the freights. That IC gets around. I think I see it from time to time on the old WC line that runs through the NW burbs of Chicago. Great shots

One quick one from yesterday just north of town by Honey Creek, IA:

Nice shot, Brad. Saw a train yesterday in Montgomery on CSX tracks with five UP locomotives including the D&RGW heritage model. First time I've seen one and it sure did look nice.

Nice pictures as usual, Brad. I must say, that IC "transfer caboose", backing platform, or whatever it's called now is about the cheapest, crappiest looking piece of rolling stock I've ever seen.

Brad, I sure do miss all of the UP action in Omaha. I was there from 92-98. A good weekend was always spent over at the Council Bluffs yards :)

The Omaha/Council Bluffs area is a fun place to Photograph Trains. But again. I went over by the IAIS to try to find those new GEVO's. They where never around to be found. So. I won't be returning.

180th and Dodge, that's not too far from my house. I hear trains rolling by quite a bit. I think I might have to run out to Elkhorn to get some photos, there's a cool three track spot I want to get some shots from.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Rio Grande Engine, I love the rail line. I'm starting to convert my fleet over to SP and D&RGW stock.

Let me know if you are going to come out this way again, I wouldn't mind taking some pictures. I need an excuse to get some more use out of my new camera.
