Hey

I have an Old American flyer 314aw. It was in a box in the attic for a few years by the ocean. It has gotton rusted and corroded. Is it better to repaint the whole body or leave it?:confused:

I am going to assume that you are going to keep it, as a repaint will "ruin" its value to a collector.

Do see what a good cleaning with detergent will do, after you get it disassembled to see if any stains and such are removed. If not a repaint wouldn't hurt it. (See disclaimer above!:D) At the least remove any rust from the metal parts.

If you want to restore to a running condition as well, good luck! I had several AF sets growing up, and although they eventually wore out, they were well loved.:)
