October & November Photo Contests

I was just going to post a message inquiring about the status of these photo contests when I noticed the results had been posted. Thanks to those who voted for my night shot in the October Locomotives contest (I won first a place tie), and for my tunnel photo which garnered first place for November. In case anyone would like to see how I took these photos, here's behind the scenes photos of each:

HO scale cutaway Athearn F& on a scenic base, lighted with three LED flashlights - the room lights were off for the actual photo.

Using a photo diorama with a section of a tunnel at one end. Camera was well into the tunnel, I had to remove the lens hood to fit it in - that's it sitting on top.

All smoke and mirrors - all fake! No layout so I have to do with what I do have. And I love a challenge!

Yes, they have. For those of you who haven't seen them, you'll find them on this page: http://www.modelrailroadforums.com/

It's the forum intro page, and it has lots of useful information. I used to post stuff like that at the top of the forum home page, but then somebody pointed out that the actual forum was getting buried under all that other stuff. So I've moved a lot of it to the main index page, and that keeps the forum less cluttered.

I'd suggest you consider bookmarking http://www.modelrailroadforums.com/ as the place you enter the forum, and checking it from time to time for special announcements etc.
