I have a need for a few medium-to-heavyweight Northern Pacific steam locos on my layout. Funny thing is, I'm having trouble finding much. I'm not looking to invest in brass right now, but there isn't much out there in terms of quality plastic (Heritage Life-Like, Spectrum, and what-have-you).

Anybody have any suggestions?

It almost seems like the NP has been forgotten......

Well, the only heavy steamers for the NP would be Y6b 2-8-8-2s the NP got right after WWI; I'm using the P2K ones as a stand-in.

I think Athearn's Clinchfield Challenger could stand in for the Z-4/5/6s (can't remember which), but I thought I heard Athearn will release one in NP markings.

As far as the 2-8-2 Mikes or the 4-8-4 Northerns, I don't know what to tell you there...
