Dave 1905 seems to think that we are civilians and rail roaders are not? Now whatever that may be it is fine by me, but he passes judgement onto others and calls veternas civilians and has a crystal ball to look back at peoples past. Let me say this I always treat fellow rail fans with respect and help them out when I can. I have given my $5 to a poor man so he could eat. We gave a camera with a vertical grip and lens to a women with a brain tomur. I give away pictures or video of trains for anyone who wants it. I have given to anyone i can help when i can and my family has served in the military since the civil war and to present. But Dave 1905 seems to think he is some "master" of the conversation. Mabey he should not try to be the expert that he thinks he is. If you have anything negative to say to me then I will pray for you. I dont appreciate some know it all trying to "flame" me. God Bless all.

Union,

Thank you for you and your families service.

This is the wrong way to handle things. Creating a thread publicly confronting another member is a quick way to get kicked off the forums. By creating this thread, youve created a headache for the moderators, tarnished the other members reputation, and brought the subject into everybody else's business, which is not where it belongs.

Please allow me to recommend a positive course of action. Email a moderator expressing your concerns. Ive spoken with a couple of them several times and it has always resulted in a great outcome. In case your not aware, some of our moderators are Grandeman, CNCBSfan, leghome. Private messaging or emailing any of them will help you with your problem.

Two thumbs up!

Seriously, you are getting overly worked up for something not worth it. There are plenty of things to boil at - perceived injustice on the internet isn't one of them.

To the point in question, and by your own admission, you were 17 when the incident occurred and you didn't work for the railroad, so in the eyes of the investigators you were a "civilian." All intentions aside, if you happened upon an accident and stopped to help (good on you, for one), but refused to leave when told to do so by law enforcement personnel when they arrived so they could conduct their investigation, what would you expect?

Listen huys I do very much appreciate your concerns here, but I am not sure where DAVE got his opinoion that I was tresspassing I was not and again Rail Road employees are civilians just like me and you. I in no way tress passed and that was over 20-21 yrs ago. I did not share that memory to get bad mouthed by some wanna be conductor. I helped these men in there time of need and I left. At the time Conrail officials were pretty much jerks to all of us kids and adults alike. We all lived in the inner "city" and when we would even go down to fish they would harras us back then off rail road property and even chase many people back then. We never once tresspass'd or got near trains. On the other hand I did have two uncles working for Conrail at the time localy and my father for CSX also, so as you can see I was not worried about it anyway and for this DAVE character to make up some BS about myself was wrong. And growing up poor and joining the military should be enough for him not to throw insults at me. There are so many rail fans out there who want to have some control issues with others. These are the same people who show up along the tracks and take video and pics of trains show no respect to the crews and go onto you tube and try to sell them. It is also the same people who have some sort of self issues becuse they think that there is a "pecking" oreder in rail fanning? There is no order there is no rail fan in charge of others period. And if I am "booted" from this site not a big deal at all to me. It bears no weight on my life or rail fanning for me or my model train hobby. See it is the person who has to have hounor courage and self respect. Not worry about what others think. I do not rail fan or have many rail road "crew" friends and family becuse I play games. I have them becuse of hounor. MaY God bless all of you and take care of all of you while enjoying our great hobby. No need to reply becuse I will not be back on this site. take care all

If you want to talk about not passing judgement, when unionworker says that the railroad is "covering things up" he is basically saying that railroad workers are liars and have no integrity. He is insulting professional, real railroaders.

And why? Because he and his buddies didn't hear about an accident and the local news didn't devote a 15 second sound bite on the evening news station to the incident.

I have a been a real railroader for over 30 years and I take pride in compliance with the rules and laws.

How many times have you guys had to console a train crew because some tresspasser stepped in front of their train an splattered themselves all over the front of the engine?

How many times have you gotten to the scene of an accident hours later and can still see the skid mark of blood and skin left on top of the ties where the tresspasser was dragged along the track under the engine?

How many of you have gone to throw a switch a week after a person was killed and found bits of their brains still on the switch stand where they landed?

I have.

I do not take lightly somebody calling railroaders liars.

Just remember in this whole thread, unionworker fired the first shot.

I'm guessing that we have two basically nice folks here that have a simple misunderstanding (easily fostered in an online environment) that needs to be handled with civility in a series of private messages.

With that in mind, I don't see anything good coming from this thread. That's why it is now locked. :)
