This is obviously a totally noob question but can you run 2 engines on one regular dc track - assuming of course that they are both identical engines or at least run at the same speed?
Another noob question. Can you get get Lifelike power-loc track switches that are operated manually?
Please note that my layout is a mix of 17 feet of ho power-loc train track and 40 feet of slot car track, all on a narrow layout, that my grandkids and I currently play with for fun only.

Sure you can. You just need to apply more throttle because they are drawing more current.

That I don't know. But I'm putting Caboose high throw manual sprung levers on my switches...
You take all the electric stuff off and connect the manual switch lever directly onto the throw arm. Mine are stuck onto a little piece of sheet metal with silicone so that when I move the switch, the whole mechanism goes right along with it.
