Been an H.O. modeler since 1977 (Tyco layout!) and recently switched to N.
In the process of switching over and look forward to the 'event'. Already have a sizable N scale collection of 3 locomotives and about 10 cars. That's compared to the 40 or so locomotives and 80 plus freight cars in HO!
Never went past a small switching layout in HO since the last move and the collection just got overwhelming. Buy a locomotive, detail it, run it back and forth a couple of times and then move onto the next one. The decision was a hard one, as I had put a lot of effort into detailing some of the locomotives and a few structures. It was way out of hand, with space becoming a premium in a small apartment. So, the only solution was to switch to the smaller scale. The theme for N scale is going to be the K.I.S.S. one. We'll see how that goes.
