V&AL

Fred's Loco Shop Foreman
(PACE = Pittsburgh Area Commuter Express)

Today at the PACE Facilities the new scheme was unveiled. It is yet to be determined if the Model PACE will be powered by an Athearn Genesis FP-45 or and older model BB FP-45. Fred's locomotive shop's financial advisor says that if the Kato WC SD-45 ever get sold, then there will be room in the budget for a Genesis unit. If not, a current V&AL unit will be utilized.

The standard V&AL road scheme:

(MS paint did not accuratly represent the true colors. The PACE scheme is based of BN Cascade Green and Conrail Big Sky Blue. The V&AL scheme is an ATSF blue and C&NW green)

Not too shabby at all. Both of them look pretty nice but, I dig the PACE version a little better. Simple and clean. Although the bright yellow ladders and platforms on the V&AL do look pretty sweet......okay they're both cool. Looking forward to the actual models now. :)

The newer version looks...well, like a newer version. :) Most roads are simplifying paint schemes to save money and the newer version follows that trend. Where do you intend to place the locomotive number?

Irealized after I posted that I neglected a spot for the numbers. On the PACE, the Number will go on the rear, on the blue stripe. On the V&AL, the number will go under the cab while the logo will move to the center of the body.
