Since I shifted theme to BN, I took new pics of the lines motive power, the yard full of freight and my two real Prime Stratolight beacons removed from BN locomotives. Cheers Mike
Lookin' good!!!
And a good shift it was!
Welcome to the dark, er... green side my son!

Picked up some more goodies at the LHS tonight. Over a year ago I had ordered a QSI sound decoder for a NW brass steamer I used to have. It finaly showed up after we had long forgotten about it. Luckily it can be reprogramed by the local DCC guru that has the software to download sounds from QSI. Earlier this week I bought a brass Alco C636, ex-SP&S that is in a home road paint scheme. I will have it stripped and repainted into BN and stuff that QSI system in it and have it reprogramed to diesel sounds. A buddy switched prototypes he models and got stuck with a second hand Atlas Alco S2 and a Soundtraxx Micro Tsunami for it. I took those off his hands. Last up, several months ago I had picked up a Kato BN GP35 to have stripped and repainted into DRGW. I called and got it back, obviously prior to him stripping and repainting her! Its a later run GP35 with the bright white LED headlights. Its new in the box, so I get the fun of installing all those handrails and grab irons. Gonna get that sound installed in the S2 first. Love the sound of a turbocharged 539 prime mover! I am going to paint it federal yellow and letter her for Relco engine leasing. She will be my yard engine for the coal mine. It needs new hand rails and I wanna switch the trucks from AAR to Blunt side frames. Cheers Mike

Where you the one looking for a 110AC to 74DC converter? I was talking to one of the lighting guys at work today and asked about such a conversion. He said 74DC can be enough to be dangerous and he would just get a bench supply. He printed me out a spec sheet for one that was up to 1 Amp and about $130. Another was 3A and about $350. I left the paper at work though.
Part of the danger with DC is you can't let go of the wire if you grab a hot one. AC gives you a severe tingle but you can let go.
You can't go wrong with the BN.
