New Mexico Rail Runner

The track ends (for now) at this road crossing.

Sorry for the poor quality pix- I was in a moving vehicle. (No, I was not driving and snapping.):D

Pretty amazing that they can build this type of system in a state with such a low population density as New Mexico. We have a perfect rail line going from Prattville and other northern suburbs to Montomery. It's only used a few times a day by CSX freights serving the paper mill in Prattville. With some upgrading, it would make a perfect commuter line. Of course, no one is even talking about the idea and, if the paper mill ever closes, that line would be ripped out in nothing flat by the CSX. I guess that's when someone will come up with the idea a commuter line would have been a good idea. :(
