Hello Jim & Welcome to the forum.
I'm in HO too as are many others so you'll get all the help you need as this is really a great group of guys and gals!

Also there is a considerable cross section as far as the time period you might be interested in as well as determining whether you feel you want to start out running the straight DC type of control [my choice] or DCC? Naturally there are many other areas to consider too but there are plenty of knowledgeable folks on hand on here to talk to and get ideas.
