The phrase "I've started a new blog" is only less fearsome than hearing the words "the dentist will see you now. But I have started a blog about model railroading--about my CP Rail Manitoba and Minnesota Subdivision. I hope you just might find it enjoyable and interesting.

The blog contains articles and items that were previously published in a variety of places, including my local newspaper. They focus on tips, ideas and reflections about model railroading in general, and about the protoype.

Posts on the blogs to date include an overview of the CP Rail Manitoba & Minnesota Sub.; an inteview with Jason Shron of Rapido Trains; a reflection on Tibetan Sand Mandalas And Model Railroading (there really is a connection); an article about the Folkston (GA) Funnel and the potential of railroad tourism; Reality Vs. Plausibility in Model Railroading; and How the Railway Came to Winnipeg (a tale of double-crosses and money).

Anyway, I hope you'll take a look. Over the next number of months I intend to keep adding new items to the blog.

You can find it at http://cprailmmsub.blogspot.com/

Nice job indeed and well organized. You've got some nice pictures and nice tips. I know what you mean about a blog and a root canal being on the same level of pain. :)

I see you're modeling the exact same era that I do (early 1990's). One thing I like about that period is, not every single loco was equipped with ditch lights [yet]. Ditch light installation is something I'll go to any length to avoid!
