i just recieved my flex track in the mail today. i have never used flex track before so im wondering what would be the best way to connect the pieces? i have rail joiners but i noticed if i tried to use it on a curve one rail will be farther in then the other. so any ideas would be nice so i can use this stuff properly. thanks dereck

You will need a cutting tool to even the ends of the rail.

Xuron makes a rail cutter. Dremel also makes a motorized tool with changeable ends for cutting, etc.

Ther's a good article at http://www.nmra.org/beginner/track.html that covers the basics of track laying, including flex track. You really should pick up a pair of Xuron rail nippers. You can cut off the excess track with a Dremel tool but the rail nipper makes a clean, straight cut every time and eliminates the need to dress the ends of the rails so they will accept rail joiners.
