I need to find the cartoon drawing showing the people associated with running a railroad through time. It has frames from top to bottom time wise. The top shows a short train and all the 30-50 people necessary to run it. Moving down it shows longer train with fewer people. At the bottom there is a really long train with five or six people. It illustrates the efficiency of modern railroading.
I thought it was in either the Track Planning for Realistic Operation or How to Operate Your Model Railroad books, but looking through those I am unable to find it. I am pretty certain it is in a Kalmbach publication based on the cartoon style. Does anyone know this illustration and what book it is out of, or was it just an article in Trains or MR?
