N scale ground throws?

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

To get a ground throw to scale in N scale it would be quite small. There are some alternatives that I know of though.

If you're willing to mount your throw remotely you could look at Hump Yard throws. They are quite nice.

If you want an on-site throw then you can make something that will work pretty well pretty easily, though it won't help you with flipping polarity if you have a live frog. Check this out: http://www.telusplanet.net/public/crowley/ground_throws.htm

Hope this helps!

That's crazy enough it just might work! I am using Peco electrofrog turnouts which are supposed to be power-routing. I guess we'll see what happens!

Take a female with you when you go to buy those earing backs. You might get some strange looks if you don't!
