these are photos from my old layout. i am building a new layout. i model the DSS&A, LS&I, GB&W and Copper Range. the layout is set in the late 50s. i model HO scale, i have a 8' long ore dock with a 6' long great lakes ore boat. http://www.modelrailroadforums.com/forum/album.php?albumid=128
thats what i get, when i built the layout i put the lower level too close to the upper level.whem problems started i could not reach to fix them. what was i thinking? lol.
...be lookin' forward to seeing the new layout. We moved here to Georgia from Saxon back in the early 80's. I used to put up pre-fab (Wausau) homes all over the UP, N WI, and N MN. I'm modeling Milwaukee Road as I was born and raised near their trackage.
hi the new layout will be centered around marquette mi. will still have the ore dock. a large downtown area, a papermill complex, ore yard, and frt. yard with roundhouseand repair shop. i don't have the room to model marquette in the real world so my city will be named after it. the whole layout will have a city theme. i have been to saxon, spent a couple of summers up there exploring the old DSS&A right of way. good to here from you.
