hi guys im new to the site and have a question im trying to answer fore my father. he has lots of trains and just got the mth bnsf freight set and he was wondering what are the white colored parts on the roof of the engine....is it supposed to be a rotating light that they never put on it or what? heres the pic of the engine...thanks guys
No there's no rotating light or anything. Those parts are the AC Cooling unit for the cab.
Actually they are part of the satellite and radio communication system used on the engines. Nothing to do with a/c.
well interesting.....who is right? lol
Well to put an extra point in my favour I worked for a company that use to make the cabs for EMD in london ontario. I worked on cabs for UP and BNSF SD70Ace's and CN SD70M-2's and this was one item of many we installed before shipping them out.
well id say that gives you extra points

An impressive looking loco, whatever is on the roof !!!
