What technique would you guys recommend I use on this mountain to get good looking rock formations that I want to paint/scenic. I want it to look like a rock cut that has been made to accomodate the rail line through the mountain. Canadian rockies is what I'm going for.
Could you please post some pictures of your work to help me get the idea?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.
I looked through all my e-mailed tips and links and can't find the one I am looking for. But I saw a "How To" on making drilled rock marks in foam board to make it look like the rock was drilled and blasted. If you google some pictures of drilled/blasted rock and figure the spacing of the holes maybe you could make a duplicate that on the walls of the cut and get the look you want. Make it not one drill hole top to bottom but in steps from the top down then just paint and wash in the colors you want for the rock face.
A heated steel darting pin held against the foam should impart the look of drill holes against the side of a blasted face of rock.
