I just finished a piece of electronics to simulate an aviation obstruction light on top of my new water tower. It is based on the ATtiny13A microcontroller and supports up to 5 pulsing LED lights you can put on the top of your towers & other tall structures in your layout to make aviation more safe in your layout :-)

It was a fun and inexpensive (the microcontroller only cost me 43 cents) DIY project! The lights pulsate independently of each other so that you don't have unrealistically synchronized warning lights on your layout. Here is a photo of the new water tower. Let me know if there is interest, I can post code & photos of the electronics.

Hey move that tower will ya, I can’t see the train.
I’d like to see it too, I’m planning on adding a few myself!

Neat lighting. Do you have a lot of air traffic over your layout? (I don't care much for the green and black with white lettering on that diesel. Gray-over-black with red and yellow strip down on the walkway edges looks much better to me. But, then, I'm back in the pre-merger period with the Q's road switcher paint scheme! :p
