Has anyone had much experience with the Model power 2-6-0, and the 4-4-0 american locos they produce? I would like to get some good running smaller locos for a logging shortline, and this and the atlas mogal seem to be the choices, could some of you guys N gals let me know of your experiences so I can make a choice. These new locos are expensive, so would like some help before I lay down my cherished cash stash.:D

I'm curious too! the 4-4-0 and 2-6-0 would fit my layout nicely. I looked on you tube a saw the 4-4-0 runnin I haven't found the 2-6-0 yet......Someone here's got to have one or the other?

They (Model Power) are nice looking and nice running, but unless you get the traction tires, they're very weak pullers, especially if you put them on steep grade, like on a logging RR. I've heard of good results with Bullfrog snot also. I haven't seen a 2-6-0 MP either, but the Athearn 2-6-0 is a nice runner and comes with traction tires...mine is a decent puller, especially for it's size.
