I have some 2 bay (Microtrains) covered hoppers here that I wish to body mount the couplers. I am presuming it can be done as the position for the screw is marked in the chassis.
Any idea what number coupler and indeed if it can be done. I tried the couplers that are on the bogies but they (the coupler bodies) are too long and the bolster is in the way
Any help appreciated
My reccomendation would be the 1023 which is a narrow housing. The current MTL # is 001 02 010 for the brown one which is the one I use.
Save the coupler that you remove from the truck as it can be used on longer cars without interferance from the truck.
Catt thanks mate. At the moment I am using the 1023 on box cars and the like but they are too long in the body for the little shorties. The bolster gets in the way.
I'll keep trying
