I'm glad this guy is alive but I don't buy his story. I know the crossing in West Sacramento and it's 70 mph territory and those gates come down at least two minutes before the train is at the crossing. I've investigated several train/car accidents where the driver claimed the brakes failed and, in every case, the brakes were fine. What happened was they weren't paying attention, panicked when they got to the crossing, and hit the accelerator instead of the brakes. The CHP will examine the car and I'll bet this guy gets a ticket for failing to observe railroad crossing signals.
My Brakes failed,,, yeah right whatever, it amazes me how brakes magically fail at the worst time possible, I bet this guys not a member of mensa.

the train they show has the SP heritage unit on the lead...
