Logging Vehicles

I'm looking for info as to where i might be able to find HO Scale Logging Vehicles such as Loaders with a Grapple on the front for unloading/loading vehicles/train cars. Also some HO Logging Trucks. I'm having a tough time finding any.

Thanks
Tim

Custom Finishing makes HO log trailers and a log truck conversion kit for I believe the Atlas Ford Semi Tractors. Decent looking but a bit pricy in my opinion.

Walthers has a log truck and log skidder in the woodland scenics line. I believe they also made a log loader similar to a front loader with a grapple rather than a bucket.

Norscot offers a log loader very similar to the Walthers item described above.

Athearn offered a John Deere log skidder, but is tough to find and rather expensive for a vehicle when it is found.

Bachmann offers a steam donkey as well.

Pretty much just choose your era. There's very little offered for modern logging, but there's some.

I found this feller buncher in 1/87th but it is in Austrialia(about half way down page) The price really wasn't bad and got it pretty quick, 10 days.

This is the Athern #77090, not made anymore but I just got one off E Bay, $28.00

Yes logging eqipment is a little hard to find but can be done.:D

These HO scale logging trucks are nice, but probably a little custom work went into them. Looks like Herpa/ Promotex Log trucks with faller Car System chassis.

Meanwhile, take a look at Truckstop Models. They have a huge selection of hard to find HO Scale (1/87 scale) vehicles including logging equipment.

(Take a look at some of the Promotex items and see if the trucks and parts would work for you.)

Heres a Herpa/Promotex log truck on E-bay

If you're layout is more 1940's or 50's vintage, don't forget the Woodland Scenics Auto Scenes logging truck.

I was in a Northern Tools store last sat. & they have 3 logging vehicles for $19.95 to $29.95 ea. made by Norscott. Tractor Supply sometimes has these vehicles made by Ertl & they are John Deere colors.
Both of these stores have catalogs on line.:D

Here's what's sitting at my papermill:
A Motorart Volvo Grapple with a Herpa logging truck,
a Norscot Cat front end loader,
and an Athearn John Deere skidder sitting by the river bank.
