I've been given a bottle of Humbrol's Maskol, (liquid masking), has anyone used this or something similar ?

Yeag, I use it for hard to wrap wire groups.
I also use it when I replace incandescent light bulbs with LED lights. I will glue the LED to the back of the light lens and then cover the whole thing with the liquid mask so that light doesn't leak all over the inside of the shell.

Yep, I have tried "Liquid Mask" from Microscale - they are all pretty much the same thing - and hated it. I could never control (properly) where it went and where it didn't go and if you didn't apply thickly enough, you got seepage.

As D&J has stated, it can apparently be used for things other than its designed purpose. As a "Masking Product" I found it useless and went back to good old masking tape :)
