I checked ebay and there are ten pages of Gatemen under 145. I am short on roofs and guess what they are up to 12 bucks.
It may be time to go metal. That is double the price from the last time I bought one. The repros are maroon in color that is also true with the doors.
I did fine The Whistle Station is number 125.

I figured out how to mount the whistles to the bases. Originally, they used glued pads. I drilled four holes and used wire to suspend them. It was the least intrusive to the housing. It would allow the housing to vibrate sound.
In the past I did purchase a reproduction Gateman roof. I remember it was maroon nor red. In checking e bay I saw a lot of maroon.
The price is steep now and I have more fun making one any way so why not make two. I chose 1/4 plywood. and two, 2 by 4.5 inch pieces.
In my early days I would try to fabricate pieces I need, but after my first parts order, that went downhill.
The roof angle is maybe 30 degrees, but I just traced out a plastic roof and cut it out a small table saw.
