This idea may hold some merit. Lenz has a new Gold Series decoder with Uninterruptible Signal Processing. Apparently, the board has a separate power supply for smooth running over dirty track. That could come in handy. ;) I'm not sure how new these are or if they're even available yet. Anyone seen them? It's off to Tony's site...

It's a great idea, but the output is very small .25amp 1 second and less, so an older loco might not keep going at all!!

I may try one in a Mantua 4-6-2 pacific I have.

Yeah, I'd like to try one as well. I wonder if one of the greatest benefits is that flickering lights would be a thing of the past.
