Lazy man’s HO Roadbed

Picked up four sheets of this 1/4” cork at “the right price”.
Should I leave as is or trim the excess away?

I use this under my cork roadbed to gain a little height, and as Ken stated I trim to the required width.
I also use it as a base for roads and buildings etc.

After a week of hard work I still can’t make a decision. Loading docks are equal with freight cars. Raise the track by adding roadbed and the poor guys can hardly unload the box cars. What a conundrum!

It looks good to me. If you like it leave it be.

Personally, I cut mine out to the size of the roadbed for my track. It gave my track some good realistic height. If you want that realistic height then cut it, but if you are fine with how that looks, then don't. Ultimately it is your layout! It looks great so far!
