I am reading it now. Nice book on "THE" railroad of the era. It is a bit amazing that the author, Linn Wescott, also passed away while the manuscript was being written.
I still have my copy that my daughter gave me for my birthday from back in 1986. You got a good deal. The cover price back then was $23.95 so factor in inflation and it's a really good deal. Not to mention they have been out of print for years. I subscribe to the "Narrow Guage and Shortline Gazette" and they have been running parts of the book in the bi monthly publication.
I figured I got a good deal. If I remember correctly I saw a cover missing softback go for over 100.00 on the bay. I model modern day but I love looking at the GD railroad. The details and scratchbuilt items blows me away not to mention the size of the layout.
