Wow, some great pics there guys!
I might add a simple intermodal yard to the layout, I've been to one that had just one track and one top loader, that's it.
Railroads are on budgets too!

I had been looking at photos of Hulett ore loaders for a week drooling and planning various mischief, but i am just starting back and want to do something ultra simple: like a shelf diorama of the tank farm across Short Creek from Port Birmingham. My father retired from driving a tractor trailer and made many runs to that facility in his career and it would of interest to him: kind of a conversation piece. It could ,one day, plug into a larger layout with the full Birmingport facility; but right now it is a modeling refresher before tackling (or opting out) a steel mill.
I have found Birmingham Southern decals but they are in England: i am hoping someone still has some on a shelf in the US.
