Interchangeable proto GP7/GP9 shells?

Are the proto 2000 GP7 and GP9 shells interchangeable?
I don't have either one of these but am keeping my options open for a future project. I'm assuming the shells ride on the exact same chassis, just making sure!!

They should be. I have a bunch of 9's and 7's. I do know the 18's will not fit on a 7 or 9 frame.
 
Yes. I have both and the shells will fit either frame. There are, however, considerable differences in the side sills and fuel tank details between the two models, both by phases and rebuilds. You really need a prototype photo to work from to get it right.
