Inglenook Shunting

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

I have two tracks off a siding in front of a warehouse and the spacing happens to be the same as an Inglenook, 5, 3 and 3 cars fit on the siding without fouling. It is a very short siding and a switcher and three cars can move the other way on the siding and not foul at the other end. I have 8 Legos and write the car marks on a Lego in Sharpy (when I want different cars, it wipes off with alcohol) and sticking the Legos together in a random order determines the train to build.

I absolutely love inglenook layouts! First time I learned about them and played a similar online game was when I discovered Dawson Station.

These layouts are definitely a lot of fun!
