Hey folks,

So, as I'm going to be modeling central Iowa in the late 00's/early 10's, one of my main goals is to model the Iowa Interstate 6988, a Chinese-built 2-10-2 QJ class brought over to the railroad in the 00's. Currently, the only HO model I can find is a Bachmann, and I'm not sure if it's diecast or what it is.

Any tips or tricks for a beginner looking to detail her up? It'll take some time and effort, just curious if anyone has 3D printed parts, processes, resources, etc., that they'd recommend for a superdetailing project like this.
