Does Rapido use keep alive in their locos like Scaletrains?

I don't own any yet but was curious as to what decoder is in it.

Yes, I dont think they do use keep alive, I tried to look it up on their website, but couldn’t find enough detail.

Yea! Rapido seems to be vague about a lot of things.

Yes, I dont think they do use keep alive, I tried to look it up on their website, but couldn’t find enough detail.

No, Rapido doesn't install stay alives, you would have thought that would be standard by now with most manufacturers.

This is a few years old version as well, but I am surprised. I think that means I need feeder wires to the frogs which truly sucks. My old 30plus year old $29 model train set runs better over the switches than a ’top quality’ Rapido engine…..pretty sad!

And this is my final answer, pretty near all set track except for some easy flex, (yards and lower mainlines in one spot.

I would first look at adding a stay alive if there are solder pads available on the decoder, it's likely to be 21 pin, so most likely will have, and caps are a couple of $, less work and guaranteed running.

Thanks, I had to get rid of possible problem spots in the future as I have already come across my switch issue……grrrrrrr

It's not really an issue, just add a set of feeders to each leg of your turnouts and that issue should go away,

Have you tried to clean the wheels yet? That could explain why you're starting to now see issues. If the wheels are starting to get gunky that you lose traction and could be your stuttering issue.

I haven’t done any troubleshooting yet, focusing getting the track squared off first, then will tackle the next issue. No time right now though.
