OK, I have a 3 diesel consist that works quite well. All BLI Paragon2 diesels (one with QSI sound). The only thing is, when I blow the horns, it's like an orchestra. Three different start times and three different end times. Other than muting, is there a way of synchronizing horns in a consist? I'm using NCE PowerPro and JMRI.
Why would you want to do that? Usually only the lead locomotive (the one with the crew) sounds the horn. I mute the horns and bells of all but the lead loco in any consist.
There's a setting in JMRI for consists. Look for the horn setting. When thats enabled, only the lead loco will blow the horn. Which is the prototypical way of sounding.
Of course you will have to change this on all 3 locos. Make sure you delete the consist before programming.
