I have this brass diesel and the only thing making it not appropriate for the era I model is the Sinclair antenna on it.

Any suggestions on how to remove it causing the least amount of damage to my model would be appreciated.

Is it glued on or soldered? If its' soldered I'd take a damp tissue and cover the surrounding area, then grip the antenna with a pair of needle nose pliers and touch the attenna with a hot soldering iron. Hopefully the antenna will just pop off that way.

It's very small so it may be glued. I'll have to take a closer look.

I will try your suggestion. Thanks.

I can't be sure but a quick google search turned up that Sinclair started up as a company in 1951. I have seen pictures of a Canadian national F-7 in the green and yellow scheme with a sinclair antenna on it.

The year I model is 1956 when it was renumbered, but I've never seen a sinclair antenna yet in a 1956 photo. I used to model the year 55, but this model, and others that I have got recently, were only available with the 1956 renumbering on them so I moved the year I model up to 1956. Beats having to repaint and renumber.

Here is the prototype pic of my model, but I have no idea what year the photo was taken.

I'm still researching to pinpoint a date these antennas were installed.

Cheers
