How to Build Lumber Loads and Cargo Containers

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

I've seen photos of wrapped loads in the 1960s, but probably became more common through the 1970s and 80s.

I've also seen un-wrapped loads present day.

All of what I've seen most recently had load of wood wrapped. I guess there are still loads not wrapped. I would like to model both because it's just more interesting to have different loads.

Nice work going on here.

I agree with you, Dave - modeling both wrapped and unwrapped makes it interesting.
Chris, thanks for posting that recent photo of unwrapped lumber.
This has been an interesting and useful conversation so far, at least for this new guy.
