I have 2 HO scale Pikestuff shops brand new in the bag. I'm thinking about combining these into one. That would make a scale 200 foot long X 70 foot wide building (27 1/2" actual). Is this too long?? Share your thoughts, ideas, etc.

Sounds fine to me. I feel the shops buildings are too small myself, height wise and floor space wise. I have one, and I'm going to completely re-build it when I build my big layout.

Too big is dictated more by layout space than anything else. I'd build a mock-up and place it on your layout to see how well it fits and looks. If it doesn't look too big, then go for it. 200x70 is not a huge building.

Another deciding factor is what you want the building to be on your layout. If you are leaving it as a car shop, its not too big at all.

Most buildings on layouts are too small due to space restrictions. Nothing looks more unrealistic than an 60' building being serviced by a 60' boxcar. If you have room for large buildings, do it. My Club plans to build an automotive plant that will be 16' long.

Fred, Space on the layout isn't a problem at all right now. I don't have a layout hehehe I went ahead and did it 200 X 70 foot. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Here's a quick shot I did tonight.
