I was wondering what people use to fill the gaps and kerf lines in there homabed. I slathered up a section with spackle earlier today, don't know if that was a stupid idea or not.

The kerf lines get covered with ballast and disappear. No need to cover or fill them.
Same with small gaps.
For larger gaps I have used dry-wall spackle and it seems to work well.
One important step after the Homabed is glued down is to sand the top surface. This ensures the top surface to smooth so the track lays flat on the Homabed.
Check my build thread for details and pictures on using Homabed.
Don't worry about it. Once you apply ballast, you'll never see the kerf lines. Here's some pictures. My entire layout is on Homabed. LOVE IT !

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably hit the screw holes and gaps with a little more sparkle.
