For all you steam lovers out there..... I received this through the Museum List I am on.

Great vintage footage of ex-Lackawanna No. 565 & 304 in the 1950's working on the Dansville & Mt. Morris Railroad. Make sure to click "watch in high quality" at the bottom right just under the video area.

Nice find, Ray. It's not hard to see why the D&MMR only had a few years left when that video was shot. I was amazed to still see archbar trucks under 304's tender. Pretty high tech sanding operation too. :)
 


BTW... I think both of the locos in that footage are now at Steamtown. I know 565 is listed on their roster (not under steam at this time) and I have heard that 304 is there but under one of her original owners #s.
 
boy thats when men were men,man those guys had it rough but if you were to ask some old timer about those days he would say those were the glory days of railroading
