I see many MRR companies have a tanker with "Penn Salt" markers on them. What were these cars used for and where can I find the information. Thanks!
 
I'm guessing the real tank cars were for hauling chemicals like Hydrochloric Acid or Sulfuric acid. Although it's not uncommon to see train set equipment like Bachmann, Life-Like or Tyco to be lettered for various big businesses especially manufacturing firms whether they actually owned the cars or not.
