Hi from Olympia Washington

Stumbled onto this site the other day and it appealed to me so I signed up. Been model railroading for around 20 years but but took a break but now I am back. I model "N" scale and can not believe the amout of interest the hobby has gained. I am now working on a 32" by 16' layout so will be looking for ideas.

Welcome to the forums, Dean. This is a great site with a lot of friendly, talented and knowledgeable folks here. Lots of help when needed, all you have to do is ask.

What rr and era are you modeling? I am modeling the CB&Q in N scale. Currently building a new roster after being out of the hobby for a little over 20 years. It seems to me that any interest related to trains (real or model) is accepted by the general public better now than 30 years ago. Also, the quality of products available is so much better than 20 years ago when I last had an operating layout.

Thanks for the invite Bob. My layout is stickly what I feel like modeling
at the time I am modeling if that makes since!
At one end I have a large Coal mine at the other end will be a round house. In between will be a large sawmill and town train station and what ever pops into my head. My locomotives are Burlington Northern and Amtrak because that what runs by my house about 2 miles away on the North South run from Seattle, Washington to California.

Hi Dean. I was just in Lacey this evening at the OMRS model railroad club at the Thurston County Fairgrounds. A bunch of model railroads will be having open houses this Saturday around Olympia. Come down to our club between 10am and 3pm Saturday and we can give you more info.
